Is your camera no longer responding, can't you connect to the app or have you forgotten the password? Then it may be necessary to reset a Reolink camera. A reset returns the camera to factory settings so you can reinstall it.
Fortunately, resetting a Reolink camera is usually simple. Most models have a reset button on the camera itself that allows you to perform a factory reset in seconds. In this guide we explain step by step how to reset a Reolink camera, why a camera sometimes does not respond and what about the default password.

There are several situations in which it may be necessary to reset a camera.
Common reasons include:
you forgot the camera password
the camera stops responding in the app
the camera no longer connects to the network
the camera needs to be reset
the camera was purchased second-hand and contains old settings
Resetting the camera will delete all settings and return the device to factory settings.
The most commonly used method is a physical reset via the reset button on the camera.
First make sure the camera is turned on. Depending on the model, this can be done via:
PoE (Power over Ethernet)
a 12V power adapter
a battery or rechargeable battery
Many Reolink cameras have a reset button:
at the network connection
under a small rubber cap
on the camera cable
or at the SD card slot
The button is small and can usually be pressed with a paper clip or thin pin.
Press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds while the camera is on.
Release the button once the camera restarts. You often hear a sound signal or see the status LED change.
The camera will then be reset to factory settings.
In some cases you can also reset a camera via the Reolink app or Reolink Client software.
This can be done if you still have access to the camera.
The steps are usually:
Open the Reolink app or software
Go to Device Settings
Choose Advanced Settings
Select Restore to Factory Settings
The camera will then restart and be reset to the default settings.
When a camera does not respond, this does not always mean that there is a defect. Often the problem lies with the connection or settings.
Common causes include:
a wrong IP address
problems with WiFi or network
an incorrect password
firmware issues
problems with nutrition
In many cases, a reset can help to reconfigure the camera correctly.
After resetting, the camera must be added to your system again.
This usually takes the following steps:
Open the Reolink app
Choose Add Device
Scan the QR code on the camera
Connect the camera to the network
Set a new password
You can then view live camera images again via the app or recorder.
Reolink is known for user-friendly security cameras with good image quality. The cameras can often be easily set up via an app and work with both WiFi and wired networks.
Reolink cameras are widely used for:
