Is your camera no longer responding, can you no longer log in or is the connection to the app not working properly? Then it may be necessary to reset a Eufy camera. A reset returns the camera to factory settings, so you can reinstall it in the Eufy Security app.
Many problems with smart cameras are caused by network problems, a forgotten password or an error in the settings. Fortunately, resetting a Eufy camera is usually quite simple. In this guide we explain step by step how to reset a Eufy camera, why a camera sometimes does not respond and what about the default password.
Do you already use a Eufy security system or do you want to install a new system? Then also view the range Eufy IP camera surveillance.
There are several situations where a reset can be useful.
The most common reasons are:
the camera stops responding in the app
the camera no longer connects to WiFi
you bought the camera second hand
the installation failed
you want to reconfigure the camera
Resetting the camera will erase all settings. You can then add the device again to the Eufy Security app.
Most Eufy cameras have a physical reset button. This button is usually located on the back, bottom, or near the charging port of the camera.
Check if the camera has power. Depending on the model, this can be via:
an internal battery
a USB power supply
a charging cable
The reset button is often located:
near the SYNC button
under a small rubber flap
next to the charging port
Sometimes the button also says “RESET” or “SYNC”.
Press and hold the button for about 10 to 15 seconds until you hear a sound or the status light changes.
The camera will restart and be reset to factory settings. You can then add it again in the Eufy Security app.
After resetting, the camera must be paired again.
This usually takes the following steps:
Open the Eufy Security app
Choose add device
Scan the QR code on the camera
Connect the camera to WiFi
Complete the installation in the app
You can then view live camera images again and receive notifications.
When a Eufy camera does not respond, it is often not due to the camera itself but to the connection or settings.
Common causes include:
bad wifi connection
empty battery
an error in the app
firmware issues
wrong network settings
A reset can help resolve these issues and set up the camera correctly again.
