Hikvision internal ceiling PIR detector is intended for installation indoors, in locations such as living room, kitchen, hallway, bedroom or for use in office buildings. This ceiling detector is ideal for rooms that do not have a square or rectangular shape, but also very suitable for large rooms due to its enormous detection area.
The PIR ceiling detector has the model number DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE and is a fully secure wireless bi-directional detector with motion detection, tamper protection, low battery monitoring and connection monitoring. It can operate for up to 5 years from a built-in battery. It ignores animals while recognizing humans from the first step.
Detection range of the DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE
The Hikvision internal PIR ceiling detector can monitor an area of 12 meters from the sensor for movement in a 360 degree field. If you place the detector in the middle of a room, the room may be 24 by 24 meters in size. The detector can view 12 meters on each side. The sensor divides the area into no fewer than 172 zones and gives an alarm if 1 or more zones detect movement. This sensitivity can be adjusted via the Hik-Connect application on your smartphone. There are a total of 3 settings, high sensitivity, normal and animal-friendly. The latter should be chosen if there are cats or dogs in the area to be secured. Pets up to 30KG are not detected in this mode.
Reach from the Hikvision Hub
The range from the Hub to the ceiling detector DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE is 1,600 meters in open field. The connection is continuously monitored by the Hikvision Cloud. If the wireless signal is deliberately disrupted, this will be reported immediately via the Hik-Connect app on your smartphone. The wireless Hikvision signal is called Tri-X, and operates on 2 different frequencies in the 868 MHz band and has AES-128 encryption.
Mounting height
The ideal height to mount the PIR ceiling detector is between 2.4 meters and 4.0 meters high. So you are very flexible in mounting this detector. This makes it ideally suited for homes with very high ceilings. Installing the ceiling detector is easy to do yourself. Of course, all installation supplies are included.
Register and install
All Hikvision products are easy to connect. Registration is done with a QR code on each device. It is even easier if you activate the “Enroll” function in the Hub settings of the Hik-connect app. All you have to do to connect a detector is turn it on, and the connection between Hub and detector is ready. It can't get any simpler than this.
Battery operated
Like all Hikvision products of the AX Pro alarm system, the ceiling detector operates on CR123A batteries and is therefore completely wireless. They are therefore easy to place anywhere without having to install cables. The lifespan of the standard batteries supplied is 5 years with normal use. After this time, they can easily be replaced with new ones for a few euros. These batteries are always available from stock.
